Customer Story – Vehicle Crash in Portland, Oregon
Mr. Ohlde is a Veteran who uses a power wheelchair. He purchased his 2016 Chrysler Town & Country wheelchair van from us on 10/31/17. He was recently in our South Portland office getting the hinge on his BraunAbility fold-out ramp replaced.
After leaving our office, a drunk driver crossed into his lane and hit him with his caretaker Teresa head-on. Norm’s van was totaled. His wheelchair was damaged, but because of Teresa’s quick thinking and heading towards the guard rail, the brunt of the impact hit the driver side. Norm not only survived, but called us before the EMS workers had arrived to see if we could put him in a wheelchair van rental (which we did as soon as he was released from the accident) His chair was completed secure with the EZ-Lock system.
