• Start with the right wheelchair equipment. Check compatibility, make sure it's
  designed and tested for use with a vehicle and features a metal frame where tie-down
  straps can attach properly.
• Secure the Wheelchair with 4 point wheelchair tie-downs and an Occupant Restraint System assuring
  the handicap seatbelt system has been properly designed and tested, and crosses and protects the pelvic
  and upper torso areas.
• Protect the Wheelchair Rider.
• Protect the other passengers in the handicap vehicle from a freewheeling chair.
• Ask your Mobility Consultant for training and demonstration on properly securing your wheelchair.
